FAQs
Understanding Fibrosis
The Evaluation
Scheduling, Time Zones & Reality
-
Fibrosis is a post-surgical condition that requires professional assessment and condition-specific care. Because every surgical history, healing response, and tissue behavior is different, there is no universal protocol or one-size-fits-all solution.
A formal evaluation is required to:
Assess whether fibrosis is present
Determine the severity and extent of the condition
Confirm whether you are a candidate for our corrective approach
Establish realistic expectations and a structured treatment plan
Self-diagnosis, online advice, or generalized post-op care often delays proper intervention and can allow fibrosis to progress.
-
No. Fibrosis cannot be reliably assessed through photos or videos alone.
This condition involves tissue behavior, surgical history, healing patterns, and response to prior interventions, none of which can be accurately evaluated through images or messages.
Because fibrosis is a health-related condition with aesthetic implications, we are legally required to obtain informed consent before asking questions or observing areas of concern.
Please note:
The Director and specialized therapists do not review photos, videos, or messages
Observation is performed exclusively during a formal evaluation
Social media messages and general inquiries are handled by support staff and cannot be used for clinical assessment
This protects both the patient and the clinic from misinformation and improper guidance.
-
Fibrosis is frequently misunderstood and mismanaged due to a combination of limited formal training and fragmented post-operative care models.
In many cases:
Fibrosis is not covered in depth in standard massage or post-op education programs
Providers may rely on generalized techniques, devices, or trends rather than condition-specific protocols
Patients are often cycled through multiple short treatment packages without a clear diagnostic framework
When fibrosis is not addressed with a structured and informed approach, repeated ineffective interventions can lead to:
Progressive scar tissue densification
Deeper tissue involvement
Increased frustration, expense, and disappointment for the patient
Effective fibrosis correction requires specialized knowledge, experience, and a defined treatment strategy, not trial-and-error or repeated generic sessions.
-
The evaluation is a formal clinical consultation designed to determine whether a candidate is suitable for treatment at Restorative Therapeutics Clinic.
Because fibrosis and post-surgical tissue behavior vary significantly from person to person, treatment cannot be recommended without first:
Reviewing surgical history and post-op timeline
Understanding prior interventions and tissue response
Observing the specific areas of concern
Defining realistic and achievable goals
This process protects patients from inappropriate or ineffective care and ensures that treatment is only recommended when it is clinically appropriate.
-
Many practices offer complimentary consultations that are conducted by coordinators or advisors whose primary role is to discuss services or pricing.
Our practice operates differently.
All evaluations are conducted personally by Lic. Marian Sotelo-Paz, founder and director of the clinic and creator of two U.S.-patented techniques for fibrosis prevention and correction.
The evaluation fee reflects:
Dedicated one-on-one time with a highly specialized clinician
A comprehensive review of your case
The preparation of a personalized internal Report of Findings
The evaluation is not a sales call, and the fee is non-refundable and not applied to other services, ensuring focused, unbiased clinical assessment.
-
Your evaluation includes:
A one-on-one video or in-person consultation
Review of your surgical and post-operative history
Assessment of your goals and whether they are achievable
Observation of the specific areas requiring treatment
Preparation of a written Report of Findings outlining recommendations, estimated sessions, and treatment options
The report is emailed within approximately 72 business hours, subject to verification and administrative processing.
-
The evaluation does not include:
Treatment of any kind
Disclosure of proprietary protocols or techniques
Instructions to follow independently or with other providers
Guidance on how to manage fibrosis elsewhere
Our techniques are patented and confidential. The evaluation is strictly for determining candidacy and outlining a potential treatment plan within our clinic.
-
All evaluations are conducted by Lic. Marian Sotelo-Paz.
She brings over 33 years of clinical experience, international university-level education in kinesiology and physiotherapy, and advanced specialization in dermato-functional aesthetics, scarring, and fibrosis.
Evaluations are not delegated and are not performed by assistants or administrative staff.
-
Evaluations are requested by purchasing an evaluation time slot through our website.
After payment:
You will receive an Authorization for Consultation form by email
The form must be completed in full before scheduling can occur
Once completed, our team will coordinate a timeframe for your evaluation based on availability
Evaluations are not scheduled until the authorization form is received.
-
We provide a timeframe, not an exact time, because evaluations vary in complexity and duration.
Marian conducts evaluations personally, typically after completing in-person patient treatments. This means:
Some evaluations require additional review
Clinical flow may shift slightly throughout the day
Providing rigid time slots would compromise care quality
On the day of your evaluation, you will receive a more precise time window.
This approach allows us to remain flexible while giving each patient the attention their case requires.
-
Evaluations may be conducted:
Virtually (video consultation)
In person at our Central Florida location
The pre-evaluation process is the same for both formats.
Authorization forms and payment are required before any evaluation is scheduled. -
We regularly evaluate candidates from different regions and time zones.
To accommodate this:
Candidates in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia are typically scheduled before noon (EST)
Candidates in the Americas are usually scheduled between 4:00–7:00 PM (EST)
Flexibility is required on both sides.
All timeframes are provided in Orlando, Florida (EST), and candidates are responsible for confirming their local time difference. -
Remote evaluations may be rescheduled up to three times, provided notice is given.
In-person evaluations:
Cannot be rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice
Missed in-person evaluations are considered no-shows
After one missed in-person evaluation, only one remote evaluation opportunity will be offered
If an evaluation is missed without proper notice, the fee remains non-refundable.
Preparing for Your Evaluation
After the Evaluation
Treatment Reality Check
-
Your evaluation is a formal clinical assessment. Proper preparation ensures the consultation is efficient, focused, and protective for both parties.
Before your scheduled timeframe:
Complete the Authorization Form: This must be fully filled out before a timeframe can be assigned. Include accurate surgical history, areas of concern, and upload a valid photo ID.
Identify your treatment zones: You will only be evaluated on the zones listed in your authorization form. No additional areas can be added afterward.
Consent is required: You must authorize us to review your surgical and post-op information before the evaluation can proceed.
Set up your environment: Choose a private, quiet, well-lit space. Ensure a stable internet connection and a device suitable for video consultation.
-
The evaluation follows a structured three-step process:
Case Review: Marian will ask questions about your surgical and post-op history, as well as your treatment goals. Only clinically relevant questions related to your evaluation will be addressed.
Observation: Marian will visually assess the zones you listed. Proper lighting and visibility are required.
Condition-Specific Questions: You may ask clinically relevant questions about the evaluation or treatment process. Proprietary protocols and techniques are not disclosed.
A written Report of Findings including recommended treatment approach, estimated sessions, pricing, and scheduling guidance will be emailed approximately between 3 and 5 business days after the evaluation.
-
Do not send photos, videos, or messages for assessment. Marian and her therapists will not review these outside the evaluation.
You will not receive instructions, a transferable protocol, or detailed step-by-step guidance during the consultation.
The consultation does not include treatment. One session cannot substitute for the full treatment plan.
Evaluation timeframes are provided in EST (Orlando, FL). Candidates are responsible for confirming their local time differences.
-
Verify your email address and check spam/junk folders. We are not responsible if you do not receive the report due to email issues.
Test your video platform ahead of time (Google Meet, WhatsApp, or Zoom).
Review your authorization form carefully; incomplete forms delay scheduling.
Be ready to clearly and concisely identify and discuss your treatment zones.
Confirm your availability promptly: On the day your evaluation is scheduled, we may reach out to ensure you’re ready. If you don’t respond quickly, your slot may be reassigned — in-person patients take priority, and we cannot babysit delayed responses.
-
The Report of Findings is typically prepared within approximately 3–5 business days following your evaluation.
This report includes:
A recommended treatment approach
An estimated range of sessions for significant improvement
Pricing and scheduling guidance
Delivery is considered complete once the report is sent to the email address provided by the candidate. It is the candidate’s responsibility to:
Provide a fully functional email address
Monitor spam, junk, and filtered folders
The evaluation fee is non-refundable and is not automatically credited toward future services unless otherwise agreed in writing.
-
The evaluation and treatment cannot be performed on the same day.
Time is required to properly analyze the case and prepare your personalized Report of Findings.Once the report is received and you are ready to commit, treatment can be scheduled as soon as availability allows.
⚠️ Important for travelers:
Candidates must plan evaluations well in advance. Last-minute travel plans or personal emergencies do not create urgency on our end.
Requests such as “I’ll be in Florida next week and want to see if I can start treatment” are often unrealistic and may not be accommodated. -
While reports are typically delivered within 3–5 business days, delays may occur due to:
Email filtering
Spam or junk folders
Technical issues outside our control
We are not responsible for reports that are delayed or undelivered due to email issues on the recipient’s side. Always verify your email settings and inbox accessibility.
-
21. How many sessions does the treatment require?
The number of sessions depends on multiple factors, including:
Fibrosis severity and tissue condition
Age and healing capacity
Surgical history
Previous post-op treatments (some worsen fibrosis)
Tissue response, which cannot be fully predicted until treatment begins
During the evaluation, Marian provides:
A session range for significant improvement
A minimum recommended number of sessions
This does not guarantee complete removal of fibrosis. Outcomes also depend on your goals:
Functional relief
Reduction of discomfort or restriction
Aesthetic improvement
High-performance or professional appearance goals
Patients may begin with the minimum recommended plan and expand treatment as progress is observed.
-
es. Progress is built session after session, and structured plans are essential.
For patients traveling from out of state or internationally, a treatment plan (for example, 12 sessions) may be divided into two or three trips, within a defined time frame discussed during the evaluation.
-
No. Fibrosis correction is not a single-session intervention.
This is not a miracle treatment, and meaningful improvement requires a structured approach.
Progress is cumulative and achieved over multiple sessions. -
Weekly sessions are generally recommended.
However, back-to-back daily sessions may be scheduled for traveling patients during our regular business hours. When daily sessions are performed, we typically recommend allowing additional rest days to support tissue recovery.
-
Discomfort varies depending on tissue sensitivity and fibrosis density.
Most patients experience mild to moderate discomfort and tolerate the treatment well. -
There is no downtime.
Temporary soreness, tenderness, or occasional bruising may occur. -
No.
All protocols are non-invasive and performed manually using structured, proprietary techniques. -
Complex, long-standing, or previously mistreated fibrosis may require additional sessions.
Your evaluation report will outline realistic expectations, progression options, and next steps if further treatment is indicated.
